Ski Trip 2017 â New Hampshire

During the February break, 55 students and 8 members of staff enjoyed a thrilling week of skiing in New Hampshire, USA. The locals at our resorts in Loon and Cannon mountains were delighted by the tremendous snowfall they were having, which was the best they’ve had for a very long time. The powdery snow made it very exhausting for our students, but they prevailed nevertheless. Every day was filled with five hours of swoosh and swish; perfecting the parallel and curve turns or just falling over…
As the days skiing sessions finished, we would all meet in our hotel for the heartiest of dinners and a rest to revive those legs before our evening activities. The evenings were just as fun as the days with students taking part in quizzes, going to the cinema and viewing a local high school basketball game. All the students made excellent progress, finishing every single day with beaming smiles, laughing about the biggest fall or the best wipe out.
My reflection on the week is one of great pride, firstly in the students who made excellent progress from absolute beginners to confident skiers, and secondly in the amount of inspirational and fearless attitudes that were shown during the week.
