Year 9 Football Star
Posted on: May 18th 2016On Saturday, May 14, Arsenal Ladies were triumphant over Chelsea Ladies with a brilliant goal from Danielle Carter securing the team the FA Cup! The Ladies were well represented by the Arsenal fans and it proved to be a fun family atmosphere. However, it wasn't just a special day for both teams but it was also a memorable one for our very own Ruby Grant (9C2).
Ruby is currently enrolled at the Arsenal Ladies Football Academy and has represented them for the past 4 years. She is not only an Arsenal starlet, Ruby has also been selected as part of the England Ladies Training Development Camp which prepares young ladies for international call ups, which start at Under 15’s age groups.
During the Easter holidays Ruby and her Arsenal Ladies u-14’s team represented England in the Dallas International cup. The team performed exceptionally well and came home as winners of the tournament, beating a local team in the final.
Before the FA cup Final, Ruby and her teammates paraded the Dallas cup in front of 35,000 fans. We hope this is the first of many times Ruby will be parading silverware around Wembley Stadium.
